• The rights of authors and the rights of publishers are inseparable.

• The right of our new authors to have a method of distributing their books without signing away all their rights to the work. The Books for Pleasure contract, written by an Ontario copyright lawyer, was commissioned specifically to address the rights of the author.

• The right of our new authors to be compensated fairly on the sale of their books. Books for Pleasure is committed to a high-level compensation schedule, paid quarterly, to ensure all authors are treated fairly and equitably.

• The right of our readers to expect and receive high-quality, entertaining literature for all ages. Books for Pleasure will review all literature for content before accepting submissions. Hate literature and pornography will not be accepted for distribution through the Books for Pleasure website.

• The rights of our authors and readers to the privacy of their personal information when dealing with Books for Pleasure. Books for Pleasure utilizes SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) channel encryption to protect your credit card information during transactions. This is the predominant security protocol used by Chartered Banks for their online customer banking. Our readers are also able to send and receive e-mail to and from our authors via the Books for Pleasure website. This protects our authors' rights to privacy while allowing our readers access to ask them questions regarding their work.
