Excerpt:
"Here comes a car," Beefy said.
"Don't matter," Reach told him. "If they stop to help, we'll tell them we have already called our dad, and he is coming out to get us. Might as well push it off to the side of the road, and walk home. Wasn't it great, though? We'll have to do this again, but pick a car in better condition."
They were pushing the car over to the side of the road when they heard Constable Jenkin's voice saying, "Well, boys. You are in serious trouble. Come and get into my car, and we'll go to my office, and have a little talk."
The boys obeyed.
Laurence and his mother did not stop working until almost ten o'clock. They were seated at the kitchen table having some tea and cookies when Constable Jenkins came to the door.
"I'm just here to find out where Laurence was tonight," he said to Laurence's mother, and his father who had joined them from the living room.
"Why he was here all night, helping me in the kitchen," Mother said. "Why?"

Synopsis

In the final book of the Laurence triogy, Laurence turns 14, moves to town, and begins high school. The move meant Laurence left behind his good friends, and animal pets.
His enemy Mitch returns to threaten him. Disappointments and loneliness push him towards a new group of friends who do 'exciting' things.
